Dropping off & Pick up
Community “drop off points” exist on Leverrier St and out the front of the AIS Arena on the WEST side of the stadium. Vehicles will need to enter via the Northern end of Leverrier St from Ginninderra Dr. Please note that due to traffic arrangements, pick up and drop off on the East side of the stadium is not possible.
When arriving or leaving GIO Stadium for a major event (e.g. Raiders/Brumbies match etc.) temporary traffic arrangements are put in place to ensure safe vehicle and pedestrian movement within the Bruce precinct. The changed traffic conditions also are put in place to minimise disruption to local residents in the area and permit traffic to enter and leave the stadium precinct as quickly as possible.
The roads that have altered traffic conditions are Battye, Braybrooke and Masterman streets. It is the responsibility of all patrons attending events at GIO Stadium to park their vehicles legally, and the responsibility of all patrons to obey the road rules at all times.
Please show patience when leaving the precinct due to the increase in traffic and pedestrian activity during major events. When exiting please be respectful of residents and businesses in the area.
Patrons are reminded not to leave valuables in their cars as they are responsible for the security of their own vehicles. GIO Stadium Canberra does provide limited security in the car parks using mobile security patrols and limited use of the Australian Federal Police.
Please show patience when leaving the precinct due to the increase in traffic and pedestrian activity during major events. When exiting please respect our neighbours.
Patrons attending matches at GIO Stadium Canberra will be, from 1 April 2022, able to ride e-scooters directly from Belconnen to Civic and back. The two e-scooter shared zones have been connected over Bruce Ridge, using the Belconnen Bikeway.
Scooters can be dropped off in the Community Drop Off Zone on Leverrier St, out the front of the AIS Arena on the WEST side of the stadium, the same location for ride share services.
Riders are reminded of some key safety measures when using e-scooters and attending events at GIO Stadium which include but are not limited to:
- Remembering the precinct is a shared space
- Wearing a helmet
- Abiding by the speed limit
- Using the paths
- Obeying all applicable road rules
- Ensuring only one person uses a scooter at a time
- Using the paths
- Riding safely and to the conditions
- Supervising children using e-scooters
- Park your e-scooter with consideration for others.
