Before you Arrive – Get Your Tickets Ready
- Can’t find your tickets? If you have mobile tickets, download the Ticketek App to access your mobile tickets and/or add them to your digital wallet on your device before arriving and entering the venue.
- Ensure your phone is fully charged with the brightness turned up for easy scanning on entry.
Pack light:
- While bags are permitted, it’s recommended you pack light and please all non-essential items at home.
- Any bags will be searched on entry to the venue.
- The existing Conditions of Entry to GIO Stadium Canberra will apply.
- The following items are NOT PERMITTED at the venue:
• Illicit drugs
• Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into or taken from the venue
• Glass, breakable glass containers including opened or partially filled drink containers
• Offensive weapons such as knives, bladed weapons or firearms; including toy, replica or imitation weapons
• Fireworks, flares, explosive devices or laser devices
• Unauthorised unmanned Aerial Devices / Drones
• Opened or partially filled drink containers (thermoses and water bottles up to 1L excepted)
• Musical instruments, whistles, or air horns (unless prior approval has been granted by GIO Stadium management)
• All animals except guiding, companion or hearing animals (Registration of the animal MUST be provided)
• Skateboards, scooters, roller blades, tricycles or bicycles
• Recording devices (used for commercial purposes)
• Flags over 1m x 1m in size
• Flags, banners, emblems or signs of non-competing nations
• Commercial, political, religious or offensive clothing, banners, logos or signage
• Any items or goods for sale
• Any large article that cannot be placed under a seat
• Chairs/stools
• Tents, sun shelters, beach tents and like products
• Any device, instrument or object that, in the opinion of Venue Management or Police, has the potential to cause injury or public nuisance or detract from patron experience and enjoyment. This includes but is not limited to weapons (including replica or toy), knives (including replica or toy), spray cans or compressed air canisters
Getting to the Stadium
- Follow GIO Stadium on X (Twitter) and Facebook on game day for parking and transport updates.
Driving
- Parking is available for all patrons at a cost of $10 on both the West and East side of the Stadium. Get in early as the carpark is likely to fill up quickly
- Overflow car parking is available at the University of Canberra, a short walk to the venue

- If driving, it is recommended that you park closest to the bay you are sitting in:
East Car Park
- For tickets in Bays 22 – 32 and 63 – 75, patrons should park in the East car parks
West Car Park
- For tickets in Bays 1 – 20, 50 – 62 and 76 – 79, patrons should park in West car parks.
Accessibility Parking
- Accessible parking is available on both the East and West sides of the venue. Disability permits must be displayed.
Road Closures
- Some general road closures and managed access arrangements will apply in the GIO Stadium Canberra precinct on the day.
- Parking officers will be active in the precinct during the event and drivers are reminded to park legally and safely. Please be mindful and respectful of residents who live nearby.
Public Drop off and Pick Up Zone
- The public drop off and pick up zone will be available on Leverrier Street- in front of the AIS Arena – on the West side of the venue.
Taxi / Rideshare services
- Taxi and Rideshare services are available from the western side of the venue, a short walk from the West gate.
- Please use ‘AIS or AIS Arena’ (not GIO Stadium Canberra) as your reference point.
Free Buses
- Free services will run return trips from Queanbeyan, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Civic, Woden and Tuggeranong Bus Interchanges to the East gate at GIO Stadium Canberra.

Queanbeyan / Civic to GIO Stadium
- Post match, buses will also depart from the East Gate back to major interchanges.
- In addition to the chartered buses, regularly scheduled buses run to and from CIT Bruce on Haydon Drive (20 min walk from GIO Stadium Canberra’s West Gate). The last service concludes at 11:45pm. Fees apply. Check the Transport Canberra website for more details.
Arrival & Entering – Gates Open at 6:15pm
- Arrive as early as possible and don’t delay your entry so you don’t get caught in queues.
- Make sure you have your phone’s brightness turned up and dark mode turned off before you arrive at the gates for faster entry.
Security Procedures
- Security will conduct bag checks at all entry points to the venue.
- To reduce delays, please remove all items from your pockets and avoid bringing bags where possible.
Inside the Stadium
- Locate your seat on the Venue Map
- Ask our Customer Service team for assistance
Food & Beverage
- A range of food and beverage options are available for purchase throughout the Stadium, including options for dietary requirements and non-alcoholic options.
- Additional food, beverage and toilet facilities are available for patrons outside the main bowl of the Stadium on the forecourt.
- Water stations are available at the venue.
Corporate
- Patrons with Corporate tickets will have their corporate area clearly allocated on their tickets.
- Be sure to ask our event staff for assistance in finding your seat.
Merchandise
- Merchandise will be available to purchase from outlets inside the Stadium.
Prayer Room
- Prayer rooms are available on both the Eastern and Western sides of the stadium. Please ask a customer service officer for directions.
Need help during the event?
- Please show respect to staff and other patrons when you visit.
- If you notice any anti-social, discriminatory behaviour or other issues at the match, please text “Assist” to 0455 883 228 for assistance. Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and will likely result in exclusion from the venue.
End of the event
Leaving the Stadium
- At the end of the event, please be patient and follow staff directions for smooth exiting of all patrons.
- Rideshare services are available a short walk from the West Gate.
- The Public pick-up point is located a short walk from the West Gate.
- Free event bus services are available to major interchanges (Queanbeyan, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong, Woden and Civic) from the East Gate only.
- Please respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum.
