Welcome back to GIO Stadium!

GIO Stadium reopening

We’re excited to welcome the Canberra Raiders and Brumbies back to their beloved home ground.

The Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerryn Coleman, has approved a pilot stadium project that will allow around 1,000 fans to attend football games at GIO Stadium to watch their favourite teams play.

The Brumbies game will go ahead against the Melbourne Rebels on Saturday, 4 July 2020.

The Canberra Raiders next scheduled home game is against the St. George Illawarra Dragons on Friday, 3 July 2020. GIO Stadium will welcome the team back to home soil pending NRL approval.

GIO Stadium officials and football clubs are working closely with the Chief Health Officer to determine how the logistics of the game will look.

Specific protocols will be put in place to meet NRL and Super Rugby requirements to keep players, officials and spectators safe.

More information will be available soon on the Brumbies and Raiders event pages.
